This week I migrated my weekly post to paragraph. Follow me there for future posts - Excited to blog on web3 rails now
Web3 social is an alternative governance UI. Web3 social protocols give users ownership over their data and allow profiles, posts, and networks to be ported across clients. This week the first DAO client launched on web3 social protocol Farcaster. Alphacaster will enable users to participate in and stay up to date about DAOs they are a part of. Done right, this has the potential to significantly decrease barriers to participation in DAOs.
Selling your governance votes to the highest bidder. Federation is a tool in the nouns ecosystem that enables cross-DAO voting - it allows DAOs that hold nouns to coordinate their voting in the nounsDAO. This week the team launched an experiment that allows nouns holders to sell their governance vote. Holders can put their vote on specific proposals up for auction, and anyone can bid.
Decentralized arbitration enables ownerless DAOs. Ownerless DAOs do not rely on human mediated governance, and instead take all decisions algorithmically. With DAO design still in its infancy, the concept of ownerless DAOs is still rather unexplored, with most setups requiring some sort of human governance intervention. Decentralized arbitration protocols like Kleros or Aragon Court could make it easier to create ownerless DAOs. The service would allow DAOs to outsource decisions that currently cannot be computed algorithmically to a court made up of decentralized jurors.
